Who is Ashaki Boelter? Click here to find out!

Ashaki Boelter grew up in the Bay Area in California- San Francisco, Richmond, and Vallejo.  He lived in Portland, Oregon for a bit too... making his repute synonymous with wild and crazy comics and stories.  Today, Ashaki writes out of his beautiful home way out in the deep forest of the Pacific Northwest, where the deer roam and bears and stuff.
Considered a wacky artist to many close to him, he has been blessed to also have the gift to write nutty but remarkable dramas and love stories.  Rob Me Tonight(2002) is the street havoc disaster that somehow reeks with romance, Hate Begets Hate(2003) is the attempt at a more ravaged drama where interracial lovers go to bat AT each other. Distant Lover(2003) & In The Name Of Love(2005) are part of the All-4-Love Series that pits pimps, bad singers, dead beat dads, and old school dudes in church as families reconcile and figure out ways to avoid the nut house. (2005) Diaries of the Doomed is the child proof laughdown, a bunch of horror short stories in the language of a bratty child, which acutally is a secret tool of self correction for kids. (2006) The Nok is the horror book for the streets. It's hip like the rest, but as disgusting and bloody as ever.  (2006) Supa Dupa Man: The Next Morning is Ashaki's first "published" comic book, available now! (2006) Witch Momma: Dummy for Hire is the weirdest one to date, taking place basically in Hell, but he keeps it real to his belief...  (2006) Boiling Blood is the angriest western ever written. It's mean even after the plot is over and it's time for the hero to ride off.
Every single book is a ton of fun, laughs and just craziness... They are slowly but surely making it into society's mainstream bookstores and libraries.  If you want to read something out of the ordinary, read books by Ashaki Boelter.  If you hate reading and find that most books are boring, but need to earn some bragging rights about reading, try these books!  If you have issues, need a self help book, but they bore you and you know you can't get past page 2, try Ashaki Boelter's self helping books.
So descriptive, so fun, so hilarious, and yet so deep, you'll get a kick out of any one of these titles.  He's no Grisham or King or Pilkey... He's Ashaki Boelter, the king of chaos, the master of disaster in the literary world, and a believer.
Here's a quote from Ashaki Boelter 2005:  "I love to read my own books and crack up.  That's the good thing about my books. I can laugh at them over and over.  Trust me, some folks think I've lost it upstairs.  What I don't really understand is how people seem to be stealing my books off them library shelves? Are my books really that good? Must be!  What I really love about my books is that I don't water anything down.  I don't hold back. My style is unmatched.  See for yourself."

More about Ashaki.
Who's your inspiration?
My God, my family, and whatever makes me happy. I'm a moody writer. Music also inspires me, from Teddy Pendergrass to LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Tupac, and Run DMC. The Winans to Nuwine, Lil Ras, and T-Bone. Johnny Gill and New Edition to Stephanie Mills and Cyndi Lauper. It just depends.  Sometimes, you can hear the rhythm in my writing.
Who's your favorite writer?
I have a few, but off the top of my head, Dav Pilkey!  Hands up for Captain Underpants and that series.  Other than that, I like to read biographies and autobiographies on controversial or unexplainable individuals from William Shatner to Fidel Castro, to individuals that achieved unthinkable dreams such as Barack Obama and Teddy Pendergrass.
Favorite movie?
Dumb or Dumber, Shallow Hal, Bench Warmers on a good day.  Hell Up In Harlem, Three the Hard Way, and Enter The Dragon when I'm not in the mood...
Favorite Actor?
Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, Peter Sellers, Jim Carey, Tyler Perry, Bruce Lee, and William Shatner.
Favorite Actress?
I have two favorites.  Sanaa Lathan and Gabrielle Union.
What kind of music do you like?  Who do you listen to?
I'd give myself a record deal.  Just playing.  The kind of music I like: R&B, funk, rap, gospel, 80's pop, and some rock.  I think music inspires me in a lot of ways... I couldn't write without it.
Have you always written crazy romances?
Actually no.  I started off drawing action comic books... 3rd grade. I always wanted to be a Mad magazine artist, but it didn't happen. Wish it would, if they read this! So, I've got an overwhelming number of comics I've drawn on folded typing paper, collecting dust. It's just something to laugh at I guess. 100's of characters.
As the competition in art grew and street art became the non-standard to most considered "artist" according to some art colleges I won't name,  I left art behind for whacky stories.  My expression is the most important thing, not someone else's.  I molded myself in what I do.  I'm one of a kind.

FAQ: "How do you pronounce the company name?"
ANSWER:  "The company name is pronounced in either two different ways.  It's either Shock-let High Entertainment.  OR Shock-a-lot High Entertainment"
FAQ:  "Does the name have a meaning?  Where'd the company name come from?
ANSWER:  Shakalot High comes from the author's name "Ashaki" and the word "chocolate".  Put Ashaki in the room with some chocolate and watch out as he dazzles with a chocolate high!  The entertainment part?  Well, maybe he'll break out with an off the wall story?  Like in every book published by Shakalot High Entertainment.

SHAKALOT HIGH RUSH

2007, Ashaki Boelter also created a junior basketball team called Shakalot High Rush.  A group consisting of 4 children, 6th grade:  Jessie, Alannah, Brooke and Jamie.  Successfully winning consolation prize at the Spokane Hoopfest, one of if not the largest 3 on 3 basketball tourneys in the United States.  Performing community services has been a large part of Ashaki's life plan.  With the inspiring books, comes walking the talk and for 2007, he walked it.  He encourages other men and fathers to step up year round to be involved in their community.  The only way to not leave a child behind is to take their hand and not count on the government making speeches.

2008, the Shakalot High Rush has returned to participate in a Hoop-It-Up tourney and this has also spurned a boys' team this year called the Shakalot High Crush.  Ashaki is coaching 2 teams on his own time, volunteering to educate and mentor 6th and 7th grade teams on proceeds, donations, and sponsorship of local businesses that believe in the inspiring message of Shakalot High Entertainment.  The total turn out has risen from 4 girls last year to 13 kids total today.  There are enough kids to form 3 teams, but Ashaki can only be in one place at a time.  This year's reading and value theme:  Of Mice and Men.  The kids loved the book, especially after he helped break it down in the Shakalot High way, wild and crazy!

On top of this, Ashaki has a few of his own books coming soon... Keep checking in and keep it real.
